KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Three K-9 units and a police helicopter have been deployed to help KPD, FBI and the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office track down the man who robbed an FSG bank late Tuesday morning.
He was last seen running toward the McDonald's on Lovell Rd. and the Turkey Creek Greenway. Authorities have started by searching 50 acres around the greenway.
Officials caution the man could be anywhere by now and investigators have returned to the bank to collect evidence so they try to identify him and catch up with him later.
The suspect was described as a white man, between 55 and 65, around 5'9" and 180 lbs. He was wearing a black ball cap, blue jacket, blue jeans, and black boots.
Authorities said he walked into the bank branch, 307 Lovell Rd., shortly before 10:00 a.m. He was carrying a black, semi-automatic pistol and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Anyone with further information on this robbery is asked to contact the Knoxville Police Department’s crime information line at 865-215-7212 or the FBI. Callers can remain anonymous.
