KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An East Knox County man accused of stabbing a man and punching a woman in the face has turned himself in.
According to the Knoxville Sheriff's Department, the father of 26-year-old David Crist called the Knox County Sheriff's Office Saturday morning and said his son wanted to turn himself in. Patrol Officers arrived at the Crist house on Drinnon Road and took the suspect into custody without incident around 10:30 a.m.
Crist and the victims, Alisha Fields and Anthony Crowe, have been involved in a long running dispute.
Crowe was stabbed in the side with a pocket knife and was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment. Fields drove herself to the hospital. Both have been released.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at a gas station at the corner of Asheville Highway and Strawberry Plains Pike when the suspect saw the victims turning into the business.
After the stabbing and assault, Crist took off with his father and another man. When deputies arrived at his father's house, Crist escaped out the back.
He has been charged with aggravated assault with a $5,000 bond and simple assault with a bond of $1,500.
Crist has been arrested in Knox County in the past for assault and various driving infractions.
