KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A pitbull in a North Knox County neighborhood mauled a woman Saturday afternoon.
Knox County Sheriff''s Office Deputies and Animal Control responded to the 4300 block of Northgate subdivision just off Andersonville Pike at about 2 p.m. A woman was playing with her dogs in her front yard and was attacked by a pitbull dog that belonged to a neighbor, J.J. Powers.
Angela Garrett, 40, suffered dog bite wounds to her legs and hands. Rural Metro transported her to Tennova North for treatment.
Animal Control took the 3-year-old male pitbull and a female pitbull from the residence at the 4400 block of Northgate.
The dogs are being housed at the Young Williams Animal Center for evaluation. More details will be released as KCSO and Animal Control continue their investigation.
