Knox Co. Driver Service Center closing Monday & Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Driver Service Center in Knox Co. will temporarily close next Monday and Tuesday for renovations, the Tennessee Dept. of Safety and Homeland Security announced.

Nearby Driver Service options are located at the following facilities:

•    Anderson County Driver Service Center – 704 North Charles G. Seviers Blvd., Clinton, TN 37716
•    Blount County Driver Service Center – 318 Home Avenue, Maryville, TN 37801
•    Roane County Driver Service Center – 1070 N. Gateway Avenue, Suite 1, Rockwood, TN 37854
•    Sevier County Driver Service Center – 1220 Graduate Drive, Sevierville, TN 37862

The agency said the improvements at its Strawberry Plains facility, 7320 Region Lane, will help it serve customers more efficiently and issue drivers license.

“We are committed to transforming our driver service centers into customer-friendly facilities. We hope the enhancements will equip the staff to handle the volume of customers, and more importantly, will better serve the citizens of Knox County,” Commissioner Bill Gibbons said.

During the closure, the Department recommends customers visit neighboring driver service centers in Anderson, Blount, Roane or Sevier Counties. It also points out there are four Knox County Clerk’s offices that can produce duplicates and renewals for non-commercial driver licenses.
