Knox County investigating death of inmate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a male inmate last weekend at the jail.

A sheriff's office report obtained by the Knoxville News Sentinel said 42-year-old Warren Emery Wilson was found unresponsive at 12:25 a.m. Saturday in his jail cell.

When officers were unable to wake him, they started CPR and lifesaving measures. The inmate was taken to Physicians Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

An examination will be done at the Regional Forensic Center.
