Knoxville woman charged with distributing pain pills from a home

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) --Knoxville woman is in jail after a two month investigation into the distribution of prescription pain killers.
The Knoxville Police Department's Repeat Offender Squad executed a search warrant at a home on 1938 Price Avenue.

The investigation began after complaints of suspicious activity from neighbors. During the investigation controlled purchases of Oxycodone were made from the house which led to the search warrant.

Along with Oxycodone, officers found Xanax, a handgun, 6 cell phones, and dozens of empty pill bottles. They also found a single blank script from a prescription script pad.

51 year old Brenda Ashley is charged with 2 counts of violation of Drug Free School Zone for possessing Oxycodone and Xanax for resale within 1000 feet of a park and a daycare. She was also charged with Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
