NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Before lawmakers started Tuesday, both sides were silent for a marine killed in Afghanistan.
They remembered Monroe County's Lance Corporal Frankie Watson.
The senate passed SB 486, memorializing his service to our country.
And during its silence to honor him Senator Randy McNally played, "One way trip to Dover".
It is a song local band The Surfers wrote for Frankie which can be bought on iTunes.
Lowell Russell, a family friend, says, "Frankie was very good-hearted and stuff. So you can't help but think, 'What would Frankie do?' or what would he think about it? I can't imagine another 21-year-old making the same impact Frankie did."
Frankie worked as a marine and a police officer for Madisonville Police Department.
