SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Sevier County Library System has made it into the top 200 libraries and received a special kit to help encourage kids to read.
During the summer, community members and visitors were asked to nominate the library for a chance to win the extra money using LEGO and DUPLO building blocks.
The most nominated library in the "Read! Build! Play!" project received $5,000 for books and supplies. The Sevier County Public Library System ended up in the top 200 libraries and received a special LEGO DUPLO Read! Build! Play! toolkit. The toolkit is full of cutting edge, early literacy programming that combines preschool books with a versatile collection of LEGO and DUPLO bricks. Voting ended on October 1st, 2012 and at that time, SCPLS ranked in the top 25! The SCPLS extends a huge THANKS SO MUCH to our community who continued to vote so we could win this great LEGO DUPLO literacy programming toolkit!!!
