PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) --People in Pigeon Forge will get to vote in November on whether they want to see the sell of liquor by the drink inside the city. Sevier County Election Commission approved the ballot and to add the referendum on this fall.
Ed Kuncitis, with Sevier County Elections, said the commission needed to see 94 signatures to get on the ballot, and after counting 166 signatures the group stopped counting and approved the November ballot. Kuncitis, says because of a change in state law, those wanting to see liquor drink sales in Pigeon Forge could get it on the ballot sooner than expected.
"It met the correct signature to be on the ballot," said Kuncitis. "They got to put it on sooner than they would have."
Without the change those in favor would have to wait until May for the vote. It will be on the Ballot for the City of Pigeon Forge on November 6, 2012.
