New Mr. Knoxville crowned supporting Goodwill Industries

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- A night of comedic skits, pageantry of masculinity, and relay races wearing layers of clothing from Goodwill Industries wrapped up with one winner.

The contestants ranged in age from mid 20's to upper 40's. A firefighter, US Army military man, auctioneer, attorney, and a comedian are among the contestants.

Terry Adams, a local attorney, collected the most money for Goodwill Industries and was crowned Mr.Knoxville 2012 last night at the Hilton, downtown.

DJ Corcoran of the Knoxville Fire Department is runner up and Derek Koth, with the US Army took Mr. Congeniality.

Audience members judged the men, giving cash in their name for Goodwill.

The money determines the winner.

Goodwill uses the money to help people facing major obstacles, find work.

Local 8 News anchors Lauren Davis and Michele Silva emceed the event.
