KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Some pub grub, a good meal, and a drink - throw in a fiddle or banjo and you've got the Boyd's Jig and Reel. For more than a year now, faithful customers have made the bar a favorite hot spot in Knoxville, but soon the whole world will be invited inside.
"They were just looking for a place that really the locals go to. And by definition that is what this pub is," said Nathan Johnson, Boyd's General Manager.
The Old City bar was included in CNN's list of "100 Places to Eat Like a Local." As national news crews set up, an old fashioned jam session gets underway.
You see, Boyd's lets you grab instruments right off the wall and start playing, which actually caused a bit of concern when CNN came calling.
"It was basically a bit of nervousness about it being the international exposure there. But we were happy to have them. and looked at it as a good opportunity for the restaurant," said Johnson.
Regulars, too, are happy to see their little corner of the world has some new-found fame.
"It's incredible. I think it's awesome. I personally think that this is the best place in Knoxville to eat. I'm here all of the time," said Cody Lashley.
CNN hasn't said when the show will air.
