KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Our news director spent the day at Bearden High School and got the chance to be 'Principal for a day.'
Knox County school administrators invited Lena Sadiwskyj, our news director, to walk in the shoes of Bearden High School Principal Dr. John Bartlett for a few hours Thursday.
Dr. Bartlett supervises about 2,000 students, and knows many of them by name.
Student Tavis Shuler said, "Dr. Bartlett is involved in all our classes, and I doubt any principals in other schools do that."
Lena says she saw a real passion for learning at Bearden High School, which sees 93% of graduates go on to higher education.
Dr. Bartlett told us, " I love what I do. I get up everyday and get to impact students' lives. It's a joy."
