KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- When 14 people were rushed to UT Medical Center following Wednesday's deadly bus crash, MEDIC stepped up, sending 100 units of blood to help out.

It was a big hit for them, said MEDIC spokesperson Christy Fightmaster, but they were prepared - thanks to all the Vol fans who turned out for their annual UT-Florida blood drive.

The blood drive helped them stock up and just in time.

Fightmaster did say there's always a need for blood and pointed out a couple special locations where they'll be this weekend. See sidebar.
