CLINTON, Tenn. (WVLT)- One man is dead after he drove off the road and his car was hit by a train Saturday morning.
Clinton Police Chief Rick Scarbrough says there are some unanswered questions following the incident.
According to a news release, 39-year-old Chris Vann was driving his car on Carden Road, which runs parallel to the train tracks.
His car went off the road, down an embankment and came to rest on the tracks. Around 3:15, a Norfolk Southern train struck the car near the intersection of Clinch Avenue and Carden Farm Road.
Scarbrough says it's unclear if Vann died after his car went off the road, or after the car was struck by a train.
