KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WV LT)--Mike Hamilton, former UT Athletic Director Recently took a job as President of Operations for Blood: Water Mission.
It's an organization aimed at fighting the HIV/aids and water crisis in
Africa.
Mike and wife Beth were part of a fund raising event at the downtown Foundry.
Hamilton told Local 8 News,"You find this a very different place from our place and we're really blessed.
Bono said this issue is a longitudinal latitudinal issue and we're born
in a great place, but we could have been born somewhere else, why shouldn't
we reach out to help those who were born in a place less fortunate?".
Hamilton says just one dollar provides clean water for a year for one family in Africa.
