KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WVLT)--Knoxville's Mobile Meals got a hefty financial boost Monday after a 12 hour telethon raised over $120,000 dollars for it's meal delivery program.
The telethon took place from 6am to 6pm at Knoxville's West Town Mall helped by dozens of volunteers answering phones and taking pledges.
Mobile meals delivers hot meals five days a week to seniors at least 60 years of age.
There are over 900 seniors living in Knox County, with 120 on a waiting list. The telethon helped secure enough funding for everyone including those on a waiting list for an entire year.
