ONEIDA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Scott County mom says she wants more done to figure out what happened between two boys and her daughter at the Scott County Boys and Girls Club.

Tonya Avender says her 12-year-old daughter was assaulted a month ago, and so far she's not pleased with how the investigation has gone.

Her daughter wrote a statement for police saying the two boys threatened to rape her and tied a piece of yarn around her neck.

"They're allowed to go to school, they're allowed to laugh about what they did. My daughter gets to go to school and asked if she was rapped. My daughter was not rapped, she was assaulted," said Avender.

The director of the Boys and Girls Club says the club is cooperating with police on the investigation and have suspended the two boys pending the outcome.

"The organization is deeply concerned about these allegations, and is cooperating fully with local law enforcement authorities in a thorough investigation of this case," a prepared statement said.

Avender says her 3 children won't be returning to the club. She hopes the club will put up cameras to monitor what the children are doing when adults aren't present.

"What happens if the next person gets a phone call and has to leave the room again and it does go, no my kids will not attend the boys and girls club again," said Avender.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
