KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a wreck on Chapman Hwy. early Saturday afternoon.
George Bends, 71, was pronounced dead on the scene. According to police, he was heading south in the 6100 block of Chapman Hwy. when he was hit by an oncoming car turning left into the parking lot of the United Grocery Outlet.
The driver of the car was identified as 73 year-old Barbara Divido.
Officials are still investigating the collision. The results of the investigation will then be forwarded to the District Attorney General's Office who will determine if any charges will be placed.
