KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WVLT)--For 57 years from black and white to color, East Tennesseans have started their Sunday mornings with the southern gospel sounds of the Mulls Singing Convention.
But the passing of the Reverend J. Bazzel Mull, Mrs. Mull and Charlotte has led son and grandson Doug Hutchison to make a difficult decision.
"It's always been a mulls tradition, always been a mulls show, as tough as it was i needed to respect the wishes of my family.
Now it's coming to a close, why is that?
"When the show was no longer hosted by my family it was always the plan for the show to go out on top. Out of respect and to be remembered
as their show and their legacy, they deserve for their wishes to be honored
And that was always important like I said this was a dream for my family in the the beginning and to see it with the longevity of 57 years, that's what I want people to remember,
is the passion which they brought southern gospel music to east Tennessee."
The new show will air same time 7am Sunday mornings on MYVLT.
