Crimetracker: Morristown police search for man who robbed multiple stores

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Morristown Police Department is currently seeking a suspect who committed two armed robberies in north Morristown Friday afternoon.

A tall, slender, white male wearing a ski mask, black and white checked jacket, jeans, and a grey hoodie robbed Stephanie's Ultimate Tanning at the 1800 block of Buffalo Trail at approximately 4:30 p.m.

A male matching this same description then robbed Check into Cash located at the 1600 block of East Andrew Johnson Highway at approximately 6:00 p.m. The suspect brandished a small handgun and forced store employees into a back room before leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is further described as approximately 6 feet tall with dark eyes and freckles seen under his eyes through the mask. Investigators are currently reviewing store surveillance footage in an attempt to obtain more information.
