SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Sevierville city leaders gathered on Friday to open a new parking area and green space in the downtown area.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the new gazebo located in the downtown public parking area on Bruce Street. The event followed the "I Love Sevierville" lunch event at the courthouse.
Sevierville's Mayor Bryan Atchley said he believes the new parking area will improve the downtown area and maybe help draw people to the area for shopping and dinning.
A seeding from the White House magnolia tree planted by President Andrew Jackson will be transplanted to the area.
