CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Tourism is up across the country and at nude resorts they're seeing more people than ever stop in.

At Cherokee Lodge in Crossville, the nude resort has seen a big year in the 21 years of the resort.

Owner, Donna Davis, says she believes it's because people can be who they are.

"This summer has been a real good summer. We've had an average of 35 brand new people plus our members and our guests that have been coming here for years. So it's been real good," said Davis. "Once you take your clothes off you're not hiding nothing. You're who you are, you accept your body as God gave it to you."

Some folks have decided to call the resort home. Allen Smith visited here for 10 years and a year ago decided to move here.

"This is the place I want to retire. It's so soothing, it's calm here. It's soothing, and everybody here they're great," said Smith. "We have dinners in here on Wednesday nights. Everybody just brings and we set and talk. It's like a big family. You can't beat this place."

For folks here they say they're drawn here for the peace and people.

"Peaceful, Quiet Good people," said Ray Daniels. "I like it. It's comfortable, People are decent."

Overall the travel industry is outpacing job growth by 25 percent. In Tennessee tourism is a $15 billion industry.
