KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One person has died and another is fighting for their life following a rush hour wreck in north Knoxville Wednesday, according to the Knoxville Police Dept. Both of them were riding in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo when it slammed head on into a minivan on Clinton Highway shortly before 8:30 a.m.
The car's driver was rushed to UT Medical Center also with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota Sienna was not injured. Neither driver nor the passengers have been identified.
Investigators are still trying to determine what happened. They said the vehicles collided in the 6200 block of Clinton Highway, just north of Murray Drive. They added they do not know if alcohol or drugs were involved, but have performed a blood draw because the wreck was fatal.
