KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One suspect is in custody following an alleged stabbing in the Lonsdale Community Tuesday afternoon, Knoxville Police announced.
Authorities said they responded to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of Pascal and Goins shortly before 4:30 p.m. One suspect was taken into custody at the scene and the victim was rushed to UT Medical Center with multiple stab wounds.
According to officials, the stabbing arose out of a dispute between the victim and the suspect who, they say, knew each each other previously. Charges are pending against the suspect.
KPD's Violent Crimes Unit is still investigating the incident and are withholding the names of those involved pending the outcome of the investigation and the victim's status.
