Pat Summitt makes her mark on Trevor Bayne's NASCAR ride

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Two Knoxville sports celebrities are teaming up to battle Alzheimer's Disease. Pat Summitt is putting her foundation's logo on the hood of Trevor Bayne's NASCAR ride.

The former Lady Vol head coach and last year's Daytona 500 winner showed off his new car on Friday.

Bayne will sport the Number 60 Roush Fenway, orange car during the Food City 250 Nationwide Series race on August 24th, at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Representatives from YourRaceCar.com, Roush Fenway Racing,
K-VA-T Food Stores/Food City, and Bristol Motor Speedway announced their partnership with The Pat Summitt Foundation for the "We Back Pat" racing promotion.

Pat Summitt will serve as Grand Marshall and will give the command to "Start Your Engines."

In response to the announcement, Coach Summit said, "I am thrilled that the Pat Summitt Foundation is going to be represented on the YourRaceCar.com No. 60 Roush Fenway car in the Food City 250. It will be a lot of fun to watch Trevor Bayne drive the ‘We Back Pat’ car at Bristol Motor Speedway in August. It should be a great experience, and I am looking forward to it very much."

A 'We Back Pat' show car will appear at several regional events before the Food City 250, and racing t-shirts and other merchandise will be available.

YourRaceCar.com has opportunities for select businesses to show their support as well, by putting their company on the car.

Following the race season, YourRaceCar.com will place the retired Roush Fenway race/show car up for auction, and donate a portion of the proceeds to the Pat Summitt Foundation.
