Crimetracker: Man arrested after crash, fight

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville police arrested a man after a crash lead to a violent altercation.

Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the alley behind 2310 Jefferson Avenue just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, a man driving one vehicle backed into the alleyway and struck a vehicle traveling westbound in the alley. After the collision, the two male drivers began fighting.

Officers said Timothy Grier held the other man at gunpoint, then hit him in the head with the weapon. The gun went off. No one was hit.

Grier is facing assault, kidnapping and other charges.

He was wanted in Georgia for parole violation.
