SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities in Sevierville are trying to identify two people suspected of stealing an elderly woman's wallet at a local Wal-Mart.
According to police, the suspects stole the wallet from a 71 year-old Alabama woman on Wednesday. There was more than $200 in the wallet as well as several credit cards.
The suspects reportedly tried to use the credit cards later that day.
Sevierville Police Spokesperson Bob Stahlke says this is a problem they see often at the larger stores. He urges people to really pay attention to their belongings.
"A purse will be left unattended even if just for a moment. Turn around to pick up something off the shelf or look at a product, and you can understand that in a split second they can grab something out of that purse and walk away," said Stahlke.
Anyone with information regarding these two suspects is requested to contact Detective Bush at 865-453-5507.
