Relatives of killed officer offering new reward

JACKSON, Tenn. (WVLT/AP) -- Relatives of a Tennessee law enforcement officer who was shot to death in Jackson more than four years ago are offering a new reward in efforts to find the killer.

Police say the 41-year-old Bond was killed outside Spanky's Bar & Grill in December 2008.

Police spokesman Tyreece Miller says that a man was arrested in connection with the shooting, but charges were later dropped and the case remains unsolved.

Bond, who owned the bar, was a Haywood County sheriff's deputy when he was killed. He also had worked as a police officer in Murfreesboro and Memphis and as the police chief of Bradford, a town about 35 miles north of Jackson.
