Crimetracker: Two arrested in connection with death, robbery of Rogersville man

ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Officers found one man dead in his Rogersville apartment after what appeared to be a robbery Saturday afternoon.

At about 1:20 p.m., officers from the Rogersville Police Department arrived at the Boyd Street Apartments and found Roger Hawkins, 52, dead at the scene. It looked as if he had been severely beaten and stabbed several times.

Austin Scott Price, 18, and Samuel Wade Hirsch, 22, were arrested and charged with first degree murder, both of Rogersville.

Items that had been taken from the apartment were later recovered at different locations.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Hawkins County District Attorney's office are conducting the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
