NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Democrats in the Tennessee Senate have begun posting Republican Gov. Bill Haslam's daily news summary on their caucus Facebook page.

The move comes in response to the Haslam administration last week cutting the e-mail distribution of the early-morning news roundup from 1,100 to about 150.

Haslam officials said the changes were made to make the e-mail list more manageable, but acknowledged there were no cost savings involved in sending the document to fewer people.

Senate Democratic Caucus spokesman Colby Sledge said Monday that he had received several requests to forward the news clippings.

Sledge said he added those people to the list, but decided to also begin posting the summary on Facebook to have it reach an even larger audience.
