MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Another East Tennessee school forced into lockdown while police searched for a shooting suspect.

Morgan County sheriff's deputies say James "Bubba" Kilby opened fire on 26-year-old Aaron Turner early Thursday, then took off. Deputies were posted outside nearby Oakdale School during the manhunt, and students were escorted to their cars.

"Well teachers have a safety plan and they know what to do when this arises," said principal Diana Smith.

Oakdale residents were to afraid to talk on camera. But many expressed relief hearing Kilby was locked up, again.
Kilby was released in June on $20,000 bond following an attempted first degree murder charge.

Court records in that case show Kilby allegedly tried to kill Corey Snow. Sheriff Glen Freytag says he's still gathering details before filing charges in this latest case.

"We're still trying to get all the details and we're going to interview the subject," said Freytag.

Turner was taken to UT Hospital for treatment. Kilby remains in the Morgan County Jail.
