Crimetracker: Sketch released of Ijams sexual assault suspect

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Dept. has released a composite sketch of the suspect in Wednesday's sexual assault at Ijams Nature Center.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 27-35, about 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He has a brown goatee with a sole patch under his lip, a scar in his left eyebrow, and bad teeth - broken and brown.

The suspect had been seen earlier in the day on a bicycle.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue pullover hoodie with a white shirt underneath. The shirt had light stitching on the collar. He was wearing dark, baggy blue jeans and clean-white tennis shoes.

Officers say the victim was walking on a trail when a man attacked her. She was taken to the hospital and was released later that night.

The victim's 2-year old daughter was also knocked to the ground during the assault.

Anyone with information on this incident or who may recognize the composite and/or description of the suspect is asked to contact the Knoxville Police Department’s crime information line at 865-215-7212.
