DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Saturday afternoon some folks faced their biggest fear.
Eighteen people jumped out of a plane and went skydiving...all to help fight against Cancer.
They were skydiving for a cure as part of Skydive to Survive at Skydive East Tennessee
Participants wanted to show the courage and audacity it takes to conquer cancer.
Susan Newman, a medical oncologist says, "We wanted to come up with something that we thought could possibly mimic what people sometimes go through when they are diagnosed with cancer and face that challenge and diagnosis."
The thrilling event raised more than 20 thousand dollars to go towards the new UT Medical Cancer Institute.
