MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis police say they have charged a 24-year-old man with murder in his father's slaying.
Officers responding to a call on Saturday found 55-year-old Lauren Shelton on a couch with severe head trauma. Emergency crews arrived, but pronounced him dead at the scene.
Officers say their investigation led them to issue an arrest warrant for the victim's son, Alex Shelton, who was arrested by Tennessee Highway Patrol that night in Jackson.
It was unclear whether Alex Shelton had an attorney.
