South Knoxville man burned in house fire

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A South Knoxville man was taken to the hospital with minor burns after his home broke out in flames.

It happened on the 600 block of Goldfinch Ave around 9:20 p.m.

According to the Knoxville Fire Department, the resident ran next door to a neighbor's home to report his own home was on fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found a front bedroom totally engulfed in flames.

The man was transported to Ft. Sanders Hospital. There were no other reported injuries.

Fire Investigators are on the scene to determine the cause.
