Suspect captured shortly after Knoxville Burger King robbery

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police capture a suspect in the robbery of a Kwik Stop in Knox Co. shortly after he allegedly held up the convenience store, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.. Jack Walker is also accused of trying to rob a north Knoxville fast food restaurant early that night.

A KPD spokesperson said Walker has already confessed to both crimes. He, who is currently on probation, faces Aggravated Robbery, Attempted Aggravated Robbery, and Kidnapping charges. He is being held on $82,500 bond.

Shortly after eight o'clock, police allege Walker tried to rob the Burger King, 2806 N. Broadway. Then, just a few hours later, Walker held up the Kwik Stop, 7608 Rutledge Pike, with a knife.

Officers spotted Walker's getaway car minutes later and stopped him near the Rutledge Pike and I-40 interchange. Walker reportedly tried taking off on foot, but was quickly rounded up.
