MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A former boyfriend of a woman on trial for murder has testified against her.
Brandon Steele of Sweetwater told the jury that Jessica Kennedy told him she fatally shot Jim Miller. The 60-year-old Miller was chairman of the Monroe County Election Commission.
After the state rested its case Thursday, defense lawyer John Eldridge called Steele to the witness stand.
Miller's body was found inside his burning car on July 17, 2010.
The trial continues Friday.
