JACKSON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A pair of University of Tennessee at Martin students were arrested Wednesday night after allegedly sending a threatening message to a Facebook friend last month.
According to the TBI, Patrick Valdez and Erin Chism were each charged with one count of felony harassment and felony conspiracy to commit harassment.
Authorities say Valdez wrote and produced a song that referenced sexually assaulting and killing a University of Tennessee Knoxville student and her family, then burning their house down.
Chism then allegedly friended her and then sent her the song.
According to the TBI, Valdez had a previous relationship with the victim.
They were both booked into the Weakley Co. Jail and were expected to appear in court on Thursday. TBI said the UT Martin Police Department and the Knoxville Police Dept. helped the investigation.
