SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Sevierville Board of Mayor and Alderman pass a 2% tax increas on dining out and amusements. They also voted to decrease the lodging tax in the city from 3% to 2%.
Sevierville is looking to increase taxes by 2% on dining out and amusements.
The Sevierville Board of Mayor and Alderman will look for a second time Monday at 6pm at an increase in a restaurant privilege tax and an amusement tax.
The city board is also considering a motion that would decrease the lodging tax in the city from 3% to 2%. The city plans for upcoming year to use over 85% for tourist related expenditures, the rest to general fund.
The Sevierville Board of Mayor and Alderman will meet for a regular meeting at Sevierville Civic Center at 6:00 P.M. Monday evening.
The board will still have to meet for a third reading before it is officially approved.
