BILLINGS, Mont. (WVLT/AP) -- A charter bus driver is charged with threatening a Montana gas station clerk with a knife after the clerk apparently made fun of his request for a third receipt for the fuel he purchased.
The clerk called police after 53-year-old Philip Howell Hipsher of Nashville drove off in his bus. A deputy pulled him over a short time later.
Hipsher was charged with felony assault with a weapon in Yellowstone County Justice Court on Wednesday.
Court papers say Hipsher told the deputy he was traveling to Canada to pick up a rock band. He said he was "stupid and lost focus" after the clerk laughed at him for requesting three receipts, which his employer requires.
