ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) --- The Emory River is threatening a handful of neighbors on Carter Street.
Persistent rains for several days and excess rain waters seeking a new home in the Clinch River are combining for a serious and dangerous flooding threat,
The water is expected to crest at 28', flood levels are 27'.
Roane County Emergency crews urged neighbors on Carter Street to head for higher ground.
If the flood levels reach 28' basements would be filled with water and the only road to safety would be closed.
14 roads were closed in the County because of rising river waters. Here's the list;

Waldo near White’s Creek

Sugar Grove Valley near Poplar

Hwy. 58 near Gordon Hollow
3rd. Street in Rockwood
Mountain View Rd. off of Hwy. 27
600 Block of Dickey Valley
Johnson Rd.
The river is expected to crest and recede by 3am.
