KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knox Co. students struggling with their homework or studying have a new place to turn. On Friday, TutorTennessee clicked into action.

The new service is available for all levels from kindergarten through college. Students can simply log on using their Knox Co. Public Library card numbers to connect with expert tutors, who can provide one-to-one homework help or tutoring sessions in online classrooms.

Secretary of State Tre Hargerr visited the Powell Branch Library to help launch the system.

"TutorTN provides a terrific service for young people," Secretary Hargett said. "I am pleased that we are able to offer this service for students who live in Knox County," said Hargett.

State representatives are trying to expand this program across the state. The site was launched in Knox Co. first after test scores revealed the need for additional learning tools.
