SOUTH KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating after two ATVs hit head-on, sending three people to the hospital Sunday afternoon.
On one ATV, were a 17-year-old and a 6-year-old. On the other, was a 12-year-old driver. The ATVs were traveling in opposite directions when they both struck a gap in the ground and crashed into each other.
The 17-year-old was flown to UT Medical Center. The other two victims were taken to UT in an ambulance.
Another boy, on a go-kart saw the wreck and called for help. A neighbor, who is a nurse, treated the victims until emergency crews arrived.
All three victims are expected to survive.
