KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WVLT/GoVolsXtra) -- A University of Tennessee football player accused of stealing a laptop computer has been suspended from the team indefinitely, university officials said.
Sophomore tight end Cameron Clear is charged with Theft between $1,000 and $9,999.99.
Police said he stole a MacBook Pro from the dorm room of another student. When the school's IT department detected the laptop was using one of its wireless networks they notified police.
A responding officer said when he got there he saw Clear sitting with a MacBookBook, which he closed upon noticing the officer. Authorities matched the serial numbers of the computer to the one reported stolen.
Clear was booked into the Knox County Detention Facility with his bond is $2500.
