KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities still have not said how Sydney Sloan, a senior at the University of Tennessee, died on Wednesday. A police report, obtained by Local 8 News, listed an undetermined cause of death, though it did note there were no obvious signs of foul play and no obvious signs of injury on or about her body.
Officers with the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office responded to Sloan's apartment at the Retreat, a housing complex off of Cherokee Trail, shortly before 1:00 p.m. after her roommate found her unresponsive in a bathtub. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sloan, who was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority, was originally from Brentwood, Tennessee where she attended Ravenwood High School. She was pursuing a degree in audiology.
A candlelight vigil is being organized on Facebook to celebrate her life. It is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at Circle Park. Click here for more information about the vigil
