EAST TENNESSEE (WVLT)-- If you are looking for something to do with the family this weekend there are several events in our area to enjoy.
Today is the "Coats for the Cold" distribution. No registration is necessary. All those needing a coat are invited to show up at the KARM Thrift Store on North Hall of Fame Drive starting at eight and continuing until noon. Coats not given out will be donated to local organizations.
The Appalachian Ballet Company presents their annual production of The Nutcracker at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium. There are two performances this weekend, one tonight at 8 and another one tomorrow at 2 p.m. Tickets are 25 to 40 dollars in advance and 30 to 45 dollars at the door. If you can't make it this weekend there will be two more performances next weekend.
You can bring your pets to meet Santa Paws at Village Veterinary Medical Center on Kingston Pike today from 3 until 5 p.m. and at Young Williams Animal Center today and tomorrow from noon until 4 p.m. All proceeds benefit Young Williams Animal Center.
You can catch a holiday classic that the whole family will enjoy. The Tennessee Theatre and Home Federal Bank present "It's a Wonderful Life." There are two showings tomorrow. The first is at 1 p.m. and second at 5. Tickets are free, but you might want to get there early, because seats go fast.
