West Knox trailer fire injures one

According to Karns Fire Chief Ken Marston, one woman was injured in a trailer fire in West Knox County Saturday morning.

The fire started around 1:45 a.m. at the 2500 block of Diggs Road.

The woman was inside the double-wide trailer when the fire started, and crews found her outside when they arrived.

She was transported to UT Medical Center with burn injuries.

Crews had a tough time fighting the highly congested fire inside the house. Several small explosions occurred while the fire blazed.

Officials received the initial emergency call from neighbors.

The home is considered a complete loss, and an arson unit is investigating the cause.

The Karns Fire Department was assisted by the Lenoir City Utility Board and the Knoxville Department of Roads while fighting the fire.
