SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Winterfest in Sevier County has been named to a must see holiday light show by travel writers in the US.

According to the Sevierville Chamber, the Society of American Travel Writers included Winterfest lights on its list of the Top 10 Lesser Known (But Just as Bright) Holiday lights in the US. Winterfest was listed 8th on the list.

According to the SATW, the light display includes snowflakes, rocking horses, waterfalls and much more and highlights how it lines the parkway leading into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

"Many travelers are familiar with the beautiful holiday lights at historic US locations such as Rockefeller Center in New York, but what about lesser known sites with just as much shine to celebrate? The Society of American Travel Writers, Travel’s Most Trusted Voices, presents the top 10 holiday lights sites you may not have heard of, but that are definitely worth a visit!" as posted on the society's website.

Winterfest runs through February in Sevier County and features millions of lights from Sevierville to Gatlinburg.
