Woman found dead in pond

Sevier County investigators are looking into how a woman died near a pond on Tuesday.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Sevier County investigators are looking into how a woman died near a pond on Tuesday.

A spokesperson with Sevier County Fire Department says about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday afternoon a call came into 911 for a woman found laying in a pond on Mables Lane.

Firefighters say the 64 year old woman's granddaughter found her.

Officials are trying to figure out what caused the woman to fall into the water.
