PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Pigeon Forge Police Chief said Monday that a woman was killed while trying to cross the Parkway in Pigeon Forge Friday night.

Linda Gay Hall, Lexington, VA, was hit by a vehicle Friday night at 11:18 p.m. according to Police Chief Jack Baldwin. Baldwin says she was taken to LeConte Medical Center where she later died.

He says Hall and her family were trying to cross the road when she was hit near the Howard Johnson Inn.

The driver of the vehicle has not been charged so far, Baldwin says he did submit a blood sample for toxicology tests to see if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident. Baldwin says his officers are also looking to see if speed was a factor as well.
